Join poets from our New York City Regional Workshop, “Poets as Deep Thinkers”, led by Samiya Bashir, as they host weekly readings in the Guggenheim Rotunda. Readers will share works that move in conversation with A Poem for Deep Thinkers—both Amiri Baraka’s razor-sharp 1961 poem and Rashid Johnson’s immersive Guggenheim installation.
This weekly reading series is hosted in partnership with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and its current exhibition, Rashid Johnson: A Poem for Deep Thinkers, featuring almost 90 works from the artist’s 30-year career.
A general admission ticket to the Guggenheim Museum is required for entry.
